*Shopping for Miss Strong = FUN

So today I did abit of shopping. I needed to buy a pair of maternity jeans, as well as a good bra. My first stop was Talize. I was so happy to find a great pair of maternity jeans - it was like they were made for my body, they fit so well. They are also in brand new shape and the pouch that covers your belly is a very nice light fabric so they are extremely comfortable. I can no longer where any pants that aren't maternity - minus some yoga pants, but most of them I find to tight now. I am now starting to get bigger...when I was in the fitting room I was shocked when I looked at myself, maybe it was because it was a different mirror then at home, or maybe it was the terrible lighting in the fitting room. Anyways the pants I got are awesome, they are also stylish to..Joe complimented my bum in them today so I guess that is good...lol. Here are pictures of my great $9.99 purchase:

This picture doesn't show miss Strong to well for some reason so here is a better shot of how big I am as of 22 weeks (5 1/2 months)
I am now beginning to feel the effects of being bigger. Before I never thought twice of what I did with my body, I was like a crazy monkey, but now I'm finding it much harder to do alot of the things I do everyday at the speed prior to pregnancy...It's even a challenge sometimes getting in and out of the truck.

Of course I went to the baby section, I have actually been waiting to do this since I found out that I was having a girl. I did find some cute stuff, I could of bought alot more but I controlled myself. There is tones more for girls, it's crazy...Now I know what Ellen was talking about...I would be a very frustrated shopper if I was having a boy...there is just so many nice baby girls clothes and this is just Talize, wait til I tell you about the nice stuff I saw at Winners. Anyways here are some of my buys at Talize.

Miss Strong will look adorable in this red Tommy Hilfiger dress

Baby Gap purple dress

I love these colours together- pink and brown...Little old navy sleepy with little frills at the feeties.

Rock star baby

I knew if I ever had a baby girl I would want her to wear a hat like this....so cute!

Her closet has begun...but not nearly as full as it will be in a couple of months. Joe's friend and his wife just had a baby girl last month and they let us know they will give us the clothes she grows out of which is very nice of them. Anyways after Talize I head to Winners to buy a new bra and some new undies. I know I will soon need to buy a nursing bra but the girls have gotten way to big for my old bras to handle. I did finally find a good bra, but it did take some time. I then made my way over to the baby section and woah such nice things! Again the girls section is 3 times the size of the baby boy section. I had to really resist myself when I found an adorable pink Ralph Lauren dress with frills at the bottom and they also came with little panties to go over babies diaper. It was $20.00 which isn't that much money but when you see the amount of fabric your getting for that amount and when you think how fast she will grow out of it then I did think twice....well to be honest with you the only reason I didn't buy it is because I didn't want to take the chance of Joe being mad about my decision. But when he got home from work he didn't even seem like he would have cared if I bought it so I wished I did indeed purchase this adorable outfit. I could just picture her in it. There was so many beautiful dresses for baby girls too...So when baby Strong is 12 months it will be summer and there will be tones of dresses to put her in, most of the dresses that were really nice are more for when there 12-18 months so that will work out just fine.
And by the way we are working hard to making Miss Strongs name official so I can start calling her by her name...We are thinking Amelia will probably be the name for our future baby boo, but I can't say it's official yet.
Anyways I should be off, were at Joe's parents house and we will be leaving soon. We rented the movie 9 which I can't wait to get home and watch.
Ellen Thanks for the last email, very informative! You are full of good advice, I'm extremely lucky to have you helping me out. We are hoping to get the nursery done by March at the latest because we have many projects to complete in the spring before baby comes...including minor kitchen renovations, and many things to do in the backyard including ripping out the old fence and putting up all new privacy fence, and ripping out the corner deck and other landscaping things. We want this all done by May so we will have our full. I am excited to go to Ikea in the near future and see what they have for little babes room. I will be excited to show off her nursery once Iam done with it.
I'm out for now though!! take Care

Telling Joe..

So like I said the other day we decided I wasn't going to call Joe and tell him the news- instead I wrote him a text message telling him the baby did indeed cooperate- and he texted me back that he couldn't wait to get home...what a patient man, I could never do that.

Anywho my plan was to buy some balloons saying "It's a girl" and put them in the nursery, so when Joe got home and opened the door he would see pink balloons and would find out that he is having a little girl. However I was kind of lazy and didn't know where I could find those kind of balloons on my way home from the appointment, so instead I went to Dollarama and bought some cute little girlie onesies along with a very pink bib that said "I love my daddy" and wrapped it up in a present. When he got home I gave him the present for him to open... the excitement in his eyes was inspiring.

The minuet he saw those cute little pink and purple onesies his facial expression changed right away. For some reason he was shocked- he thought I was indeed going to be having a little boy, I think he convinced himself. After the shock, he was so incredibly smilie, and looked like he was going to cry...I was expecting abit of disappointment as I knew he really wanted a boy, but instead he looked happier then I have ever seen him look. I also think it all became real to him, that he soon will have a daughter to protect and provide for...and let me tell you he will protect her like no other- I have already started feeling sorry for her future boyfriends...haha. The rest of the night he couldn't get that smile off his face, he looked so proud of himself...lol.
Here are some of the names we really like:

Amelia - short form Mia
Sydney
Sophie
Eleanor- short form Ellie or Ella

let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions.

I got to go to work now though :(
Take Care

EXCITING NEWS!!!

Yuppers- Joey and myself are having a little girl. I had a feeling it was going to be a girl and I was right. I just came back from my ultrasound and I'm now at mom and dads, I came in and asked what their guesses were- mom guessed a girl, and dad guessed a boy...well mother dear was correct, and both seemed happy with the outcome of a granddaughter. We tried calling you today Ellen but for some reason it wouldn't go threw right.

Joe and I agreed that I wouldn't call him and tell him and that we would wait til he gets home from work. Joe did want a baby boy, but we clearly will have more children so he will just have to wait. He will love having a little girl and will treat her like a princess. I'm so excited to tell him, I already have ideas for what I'm going to do with the nursery to make it more girlie. I'm not going over board but I want to add something so you know its a little girls room. This is the colour of the room:

I'm thinking of painting a little thin vine around the room at the top and then painting little strawberries off the vine. I think the red strawberries will pop on the green walls. This is the crib I want to get for the nursery. It's from Ikea and it turns into a single kids bed once your done with the crib. I already have a mosquito net which I will hang over the crib since I now know its a girl. Mom and myself are planning a Ikea trip sometime in the future, Ellen if you want to come we can wait until your back so we can all go together.
Here are some pictures of my baby girl from the ultrasound today:

Isn't she cute! haha. Things are getting exciting with my pregnancy now that I can feel her moving around. Most days I feel her move and kick quite abit. I have my hands on my belly most of the time so I don't miss any movements. I can't wait!!!!

-Kate what # can we reach you at? Mom tried calling you the other day and it didn't go threw. Let us know, or give me a call sometime. I'm sure your excited your going to have a niece because the shopping is much better! haha. I'm out for now though, Wanted to share the exciting news. Let me know of any name suggestions!

Hello hello...

Hi Everyone,

I'm at the Strong household hanging out and I have Internet so I thought I would write a quick blogarino. I was also looking up cottages because myself and Joe's family are planning a cottage vacation in August. It would be really nice to get away for a week with the baby and Joe's whole family, so plans will hopefully soon be finalized.

It's a very cold day today here in London Ontario. The dogs get complete freedom here in Winter...it's really nice that we don't have to worry about them at all, and we don't have to walk them either. Since it's winter no one uses the golf course so the dogs have acres and acres to run around on. Marley and Zack will be running around for hours, Zenny will run around with them for a while, but either gets cold or tired and comes back to the house.

I looked back at pictures of our backyard in the summer time and it makes me so depressed.

I can't wait until the Spring and then baby Strong's arrival. Joe and I are so excited for this summer- 2010 will defiantly be a year to remember.
I think we have the name picked out if it is a boy- We both really love it.
*Rowan Joseph Strong*
I love the name Rowan because it's not a common name, so it's more unique then alot of other names. It is also an earthy name- Rowan is a flowering tree with red berries. I also really like the name Amelia for a girl.
I will write again soon!

What a baby...

Well......A very disappointing visit to the hospital yesterday. I have been looking forward to this appointment since it was made about a month ago...this was the exciting ultrasound where Joe and I were going to find out if we were going to have a son or a daughter.

This baby has a mind of it's own. Every time I have an ultrasound done the little babe doesn't want to cooperate, and is never in the right positions. So here is how it went. Joe and myself took off the whole day because we were so excited for the appointment, Joe rarely gets to come to my appointments because he is busy at work, but because we were going to find out the sex he booked it off well in advance.

So we got the the hospital and I went straight into the ultrasound. The ultrasound women asked if I wanted to know the sex, I said very quickly yes. She then explained to me that she would not be the one to tell me and that Dr.Gratton would tell me after, I already knew this so I wasn't surprised. Anywho I was so excited to get the ultrasound done and then meet with Dr.Gratton and find out finally who lives inside my belly, when the women looks at me and says

"The baby is laying breach and is completely cross legged" I knew right then there was no chance I was going to find out the sex, and I was so upset. Joe wasn't in the room at this point so he didn't know yet. Joe then came in the room and the women told him that we would not be finding out the sex...I looked at him and I knew right away he was quite disappointed. Like me he was very excited for this appointment and couldn't wait to confirm that he will indeed be having a son ( he really wants a boy). Joe did get to see the baby on the ultrasound screen which was still exciting for him since he had never seen it before. You can already tell on the ultrasound that baby Strong is actually looking more and more like a cute little baby instead of a little creature. We had many calls from family and friends last night all wanting to know if we were going to be having a little girl or a little boy, I was bummed out and had to tell them all that we weren't able to find out and that hopefully in two weeks we woud know. At least everyone is excited to know so that makes me happy, Joe's friend even stopped by in the evening to find out.

So I have to wait two more weeks before my next ultrasound. This ultrasound is mainly to find out the sex, and as well take a look at the heart because the baby wasn't in a good position so they couldn't see the heart as well as they need to. January 18th....the countdown is already on. Another couple weeks kate and then you can start shopping for baby Strong.

I will keep you posted.
